The Bulldogs blasted into homecoming week with a fun-filled parade and carnival before an exhilarating football game to prepare for the space-themed dance on Sept. 14.
Students’ spirits were high after SCA did a wonderful job with the galactic spirit week and pep rally leading up to Friday and Saturday’s events. The events kicked off with the homecoming parade, which incorporated many different clubs, teams, and even teachers in our community.
“I think it is a really wonderful experience that gets people really excited about the game,” sophomore Reese Keller said. “It is a fun way to involve people who are younger, so they can see what Stone Bridge is all about.”
The football game following the parade filled the stands with many students dressed in the theme of Into the Darkness to cheer on the Bulldogs in a close game against the Woodgrove Wolverines.
“I like the homecoming game better than all the other games because the entire student body comes and everyone supports our football team,” junior Elena Wong said. “It gets everyone hyped up for the homecoming dance the next day.”
The long-awaited homecoming dance occurred on Saturday and the gym, hallways, and cafeteria looked out of this world with a light show and planet-themed decorations.
“The overall vibes [were] pretty lit. Everyone in the gym [was] getting hype, jumping up and down, you [couldn’t] hear a single thing,” junior Finn Billings said. “I love[d] the DJ–he is the best one in the world.”
SCA has worked very hard designing posters and setting up lights for this homecoming to be even better than the ones in previous years.
“The advertising was a lot better for the dance, so I think a lot more people showed up,” junior Samantha Nuth said.
SCA advisors, Phillip Campbell and Jennifer Snyder, handily put the whole dance together to make a fantastic night for all of the students. In her first year of being a SCA advisor, Ms. Snyder really felt like this was a dance to remember.
“We had to ask the DJ to start earlier,” Snyder said. “From what I saw, it was just pure unbridled joy from so many students at our school coming together. I keep seeing that image and laughing in my head.”
