Young Life Volunteer Opportunities

Ricardo Talbot, staff writer

Connecting fun with faith, Young Life strives to teach high schoolers about God’s love and to provide a safe haven for new believers.

Young Life’s goal is too introduce adolescents to Jesus Christ and help them grow their faith. Young Life is separate from Stone Bridge an includes other schools like Riverside, Rock Ridge, and Broad Run. It also isn’t specific to a church and they accept everyone even if they don’t have a relationship with God.

Young Life which meets every Monday is filled with fun games and music which is followed by the leaders talking about their experience with God as well as prayer. Young Life campaigners which meets every Wednesday is much like Monday meetings, but is is more focused on learning about God.

Each year young life hosts various camps such as fall weekend which was November 2nd-3rd. Young Life camps are filled with faith, fun, food, and friends. It’s a great way to meet new people and strengthen your relationship with God.

Young Life means different things for different people, but for senior Faith Carboneau, Young Life was one of the most influential things in her high school career. She started going her freshman year and was drawn by the fun games, awesome people, and music. She started to regularly attend Young Life and made tons of new friends. She said she felt like she could talk to leaders about anything and she always felt welcome at Young Life.

If you are looking to volunteer and serve, you can be part of the work crew which is a month of volunteering at young life camp where you can be part of dining, laundry, housekeeping, or outdoor crew.
