American Idol is making a comeback, and junior Paravi Das auditioned for a spot on Sept. 5 in Annapolis, Maryland.

“It’s always been a dream of mine to audition for the show that I grew up watching,” Das said.

Das has been singing since she was three years old and has been watching the show her entire life.

During auditions, she sang three songs, “Make You Feel My Love” by Adele, “Uptown Funk” by Bruno Mars, and “Stone Cold” by Demi Lovato.

Through her experience she met many different people including judges and other contestants. She still has a few more rounds until she auditions for the celebrity judges.

“There were so many talented people I got to meet,” Das said. “It was a dream come true!”

Stone Bridge students are eager to see Das compete for the golden ticket.

“I grew up watching the show my entire life and it’s really cool that someone from our school is auditioning for it,” senior Brooklyn Aboulhosn said. “I can’t wait to see how she does.”

Das has a few more rounds until she gets to go to Hollywood and audition in front of the celebrity judges.

American Idol began airing on Fox on June, 11, 2002 and ended its first run in April 2016. In 2018, the show will make its debut on ABC March of 2018.
