What is Jazz Coffee House?
Jazz Coffee House is when Jazz Lab, Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Choir, and Trailside band all play together for a night of coffee, desserts, and music.
“It’s super laid back, like a real jazz club,” junior and piano player Tanay Bapat said.
The group performs each month (usually on Thursdays) and charges a minimal entrance fee to community members who wish to attend.
In addition to being beneficial for these future Bulldogs, it is also a great experience for students currently in the Stone Bridge band.
“It’s great because in addition to hearing another group play, we can also see what talent we have joining us next year,” Bapat said.
Performing at the Coffee House
Members say the group prepares extensively for each performance and have multiple songs to practice. Most also seem to agree that Band Director David Keller makes the music selections exciting and fun to play.
“My favorite song is Sir Duke because it’s upbeat and funky,” Bapat said.
Attending the Coffee House
Anyone in the community is welcome to come enjoy a night of relaxing and enjoyable jazz, from parents to grandparents, neighbors to teachers.
It is even a great way to catch up with friends and relax during a hard week
